Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2006 now available
Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2006 Trial Software
“As the latest member of the Windows Server System family, Microsoft® System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM) is a server software application that is designed from the ground up to optimize disk-based backup and recovery. Backing up data to disk provides the fastest way to recover data lost to user error or software and hardware corruption. With Data Protection Manager, recovering information is as simple as browsing a share and copying directly from the Data Protection Manager to the production server.
Data Protection Manager provides several unique capabilities:
Rapid & Reliable Recovery- DPM enables IT administrators and end users to recover data in minutes instead of hours it takes to recover from tapes.
Efficient & Near Continuous Protection- DPM utilizes efficient byte level replication to deliver faster back up and less potential data loss.
Operational Simplicity- DPM lowers the total cost of your data protection environment by improving the efficiency of your operations.”
Michael Arrington gets a peak at Riya
I read Michael Arrington’s post on Riya. Sounds like Riya is round the corner now. I have been waiting it for a long time. Reading Michael’s post I learned a bit more about Riya that I did not know already. Wow’s it sounds more and more impressive than ever. Munjal Shah (CEO) tells us that they are preparing their system to allow access to 10 or so people tommorrow.
Ah, noticed that Robert Scoble is linking to Michael’s post as well and he looks impressed. Can’t wait to get my hands on this myself.

Riya – Photo Search Alpha released
ooh wooo, Riya (Ojos) is finally made to the Internet. It’s still in Alpha release though and I am still waiting for my invite
. I laughed at the pop up box I saw at the ‘Sign In’ page. This can be seen below.
Yes, I will be waiting for Firefox support, need that desperately. Don’t use IE now except for Netbanking (stupid bank systems only want to work efficiently with Firefox). Munjal, you might want to change the email address on this pop up box, it still points out to ojos-inc.com where as http://riya.com/html_download.html links to alpha@riya.com . I think I am going to love this new service.
OK, waiting for my invite now!
I am at training

FlyakiteOSX- wow wow wow
Steve Rubel links me to a reproduction of new Mac OS X. I have spent 5 minutes on it and have to say that it’s cool. Hey integrate few more features into it and I might have an OS handy when I am on the go!
Try changing the themes by going to ‘System Preferences’
