Honeyd tool

Seems to be a tool worth trying for who are interesting in Honeypot project. “Honeyd is a small daemon that creates virtual hosts on a network. The hosts can be configured to run arbitrary services, and their personality can be adapted so that they appear to be running certain operating systems. Honeyd enables a single host to claim multiple addresses…”

I wish they could have something similar to this for Windows machine. Why are Microsoft community not interested in something like this?

Finally getting some Google juice

Don’t know why, but my site was not listed on Google all this while. I added the URL again the other day and now it is listed on Google. So aaahhhhh comes when I think of it. Vasant moved his site to different domain, Vasanth.in from http://www.vasanthdharmaraj.com/. So helping Vasanth get some google juice. Not sure if my madness below will help you in any way :).

Unleash the power of Google, use Soople

I was pointed to Soople today. It’s good and unleashes the power of Google. Normally I won’t remember the strings to use for extracting the information from a specific source from Google, Soople puts that in user interface which makes it more faster for me. Soople has most of the search functions available on Google on the main page. It also has a separate page for Calculator (helps people like me). Check it out for yourself to see more uses of Soople. I will see for how long I keep on using it and I will report that back to you all.

Gmail expands to 2 GB

Just as I was getting worried of space on my Gmail account ( I was already using 51%) and I was doing the clean up of my un wanted email, Gmail announced that they will now be offering 2 GB of space. I did made a right decision by sticking to Gmail as my primary mail account. Oh, they even support rich text formating now, wow. Now what I need is integrated anti-virus cleaning facility.

Hotmail and Yahoo guys, how much worth is it to pay you guys for 2 GB of space?

Just noticed blogs.technet.com

I was checking stats of my site when I noticed that I had referers from blogs.technet.com site. Finally it is out now. I remember Jeff Alexander talking about a separate blog site for TechNet users and it is out finally. Good move Microsoft. Now I can just read the IT Pro bits without boring myself with the geeky coding stuff :). The site can be found at http://blogs.technet.com/. Looks like it is work in progress, as I don’t see the commenting feature working on the site yet. I clicked on comments and there I could not find comment input box. I did register there, but what’s the point of that? No explanations or anything. Looks like it will have some kind of forums on the site. May be somebody from TechNet Blogs can explain.
