Can browser steal our sensitive information?

A friend of mine emailed me following tip today.

We do copy various data by ctrl+c for pasting elsewhere. This copied data is stored in clipboard and is accessible from the net by a combination of Javascripts and ASP.

Just try this:

1) Copy any text by ctrl+c
2) Click the Link:
http://www.friendlycanadian.com/applications/clipboard.htm

3) You will see the text you copied on the screen which was accessed by this web page.

Now this was a scary thought for me, I mean very scary. Now easy can it be to steal sensitive information. How easy is it to see what we are copying and what we are doing to the clipboard. I think very easy.

Now some developer will have to help me out here. I have tried the above URL both in Firefox and in Internet Explorer. Now I cannot see any text from my clipboard displayed into Firefox where as I can see the text displayed which was copied onto clipboard into Internet Explorer. Does it make Firefox any secure than Internet Explorer? What is the reason that it’s not showing in Firefox? Hoping to get an answer to this sometime soon.
