My life (and I believe yours too) is too sweet and too short to make it a life of regrets. Live it. Period.

Such is the time now
I truly want to visit this place #trust30
I am following Domino Project's 30 day Trust Challenge and this post is part of that challenge.
If we live truly, we shall see truly. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
Not everyone wants to travel the world, but most people can identify at least one place in the world they’d like to visit before they die. Where is that place for you, and what will you do to make sure you get there?

Going to New Zealand is one of my childhood dreams and although 2/3 hours flight from my current location, interference of current urgencies has kept me from visiting that wonderful land. Today, it is going on my Next 5 year plan and I would have made a trip with my family by this time in 2015.
Who’s coming out with an iGlass?
I am in a dreaming mode today. Since last few days I have been thinking about a device (let’s call it iGlass for now) that is iPad for reading glasses. All I need to do is wear the reading glasses and when I turn it on, through some technology the screen appears to be at an enough distance and of enough size. Using eye gestures I could control the workings of the iGlass.
Phones and devices just need to work with each other
I am always in a war when it comes to iPhone vs. other phones especially Android based. Most of the people arguing in my opinion argue on the wrong factors but that is for another post in the future. But no matter what device you use (phones or tablets) or the platforms (iOS/Windows/Android/Nokia's OS), the near coming future would be about making the apps/platform/OS just work more closely and more easily with each other.
Amazon owes a big one to Domino Project
I had heard about Amazon.com as long as I have heard about the concept on buying books through Internet. I buy a fair bit of paper based books, ebooks etc. but not with Amazon. Among few things their expensive shipping expenses and the time it takes a book to get to Australia stopped me from making my purchase. So although being a cool company and the goods that I wanted it could not convert me into a paying customer. I love reading and love reading ebooks. I stuck to GoodReader and iBooks on my iPad and Bookdepository.com . Yes Kindle books was an option but I did not look at it seriously.
There are two kinds of people in the world
I don’t care if you succeed or fail, if you are Bill Gates or an unknown entrepreneur who gave everything to make it work but didn’t manage to pull through. The important distinction is whether you risked everything, put your life on the line, made commitments to investors, employees, customers and friends, and tried – against all the forces in the world that try to keep new ideas down – to make something new.
For me, there are people who ‘Start’ and then those who don’t.
A Desire of Knowledge is the Natural Feeling of Mankind.
Dr. Johnson then turning to me, “Sir,” (said he) a desire of knowledge is the natural feeling of mankind; and every human being, whose mind is not debauched, will be willing to give all that he has to get knowledge.
Cost of not listening
is a lot. It would cost you relationships, business deals, losing friends, productivity, effectiveness in communications, efficiency and a lot more. There are many ways to improve listening skills. One of them is to try keeping quiet one more minute before you interrupt the other person and try really hard TO LISTEN.
What ‘Ambitious’ are you?
We’re not big fans of what I consider “vertical” ambition—that is, the usual career-path trajectory, in which a newbie moves up the ladder from associate to manager to vice president over a number of years of service. On the other hand, we revere “horizontal” ambition—in which employees who love what they do are encouraged to dig deeper, expand their knowledge, and become better at it. We always try to hire people who yearn to be master craftspeople, that is, designers who want to be great designers, not managers of designers; developers who want to master the art of programming, not management.
The above article has made me think about ‘Ambition’ and being ‘Ambitious’. There is a need to recognize the fact about having two types of ambitious people, vertical and horizontal. Secondly people on both sides of horizon need to respect each other. In this world we need people of both the types.
In various aspects of our life, we can be vertically ambitious in certain aspects and horizontally ambitious in others.
I am vertically ambitious when it comes to my career but horizontal ambitious when it comes to other aspects of my life.
What about you?
