Love Apple Products and Love the rate at which they churn out products

I am a self proclaimed Apple Evangelist for quite some time. Love the products and love the rate at which they churn out products. The below product just hit my email today.

Will I get it, 99.9% may be not. I don't have a good reason to get one, I own iPhone 3GS. But I will definitely recommend it who is not convinced yet to get an iPhone [ I still don't get it why though!, they are just stubborn as I am/was]. If I have to buy any of my friends or relative such a gift, I will gladly do so [hint, someone's getting this soon].

Lisa Ray Good luck with the journey and get home soon

Gently Carbonating

Gently Carbonating is fun in OrangeI was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma on June 23rd. Started my first cycle of treatment July 2nd. Not long ago.

Just read on Lisa Ray’s blog [Hollywood/Bollywood Actress] that she is diagnosed with cancer and she is getting the treatment.

Just reading couple of posts on her blog, I feel inspired. I feel positive!

Lisa, may you recover well and early. Our prayers and positive vibes are with you!

Opera 10 is here and for Mac too

Opera 10 is here ready for download.

Have you tried it?

I have been a long time Opera browser tester but never could force myself to use this as my official browser. My testing shows that it's as fast as it's other competitors but lack of market acceptance as the browser king and lack of buzz around Opera must be the key reasons I haven't looked into using this browser full time.

Let me know what you think of Opera as a browser.

‘Quote Of The Day’ for me

Michael Jackson, Fidel Castro and Sarah Palin created drama. Paying attention, though, is the not the same as buying or respecting. It’s possible to achieve both, but not easy.

From time to time, I get stuck to a writer/speaker/an influential person. This is when I am learning a lot from this people directly/indirectly [blogs, in person, books etc.].

On my reading list these day is Seth Godin. I have been regularly catching up with Seth’s blog. I love it more because what he says is not all relevant to just marketing but in a common person’s life as well. Above quoted line is stuck in my mind for a while now.

How do you manage your information/social streams?

I just read Steve Rubel's posting on some tips of managing your information/social streams.

Lifehacks: Three Tips for Managing the Stream Before it Manages You

This post deserves more time and attention, but responding to Steve's points, here's what I personally do in my case.

1. Yes, I too turn to curators of information. I use Tweetmeme.com & subscribe to some feeds through Tabbloid.com site which comes into my email. I will now look if checking out sites like Tweetmeme.com and ReTweet.com might help me curate some information for my needs.

2. Long back, when RSS was a hot topic and when reading everything through RSS was a trend and when there were way more important and quality blogging going on, I subscribed to more then 1000 blogs. I have since then unsubscribed from many of these blogs using Google Reader as my reader of preference. Yes, I don't read even 10% of those blogs these days. Instead I have created labels for the things that I want to read and just pull that labels in Google Reader to read the feeds in that label.

But as Steve points out, I don't mind creating a personal database of things that I might be interested in future. Things are one search away from me, just in case I need it.

3. I try to catch up on my social/information streams where I can. It might be in the trains, office breaks, stations or just through the ad breaks on my couch. I try to make the most of my time. Instead of Instapaper.com [and hence another app], I have stuck to a service called Toread.cc. I like something which I want to read later on, I click on Toread bookmark and it will email that page to my inbox where it is auto labeled as "To Read" and I read these emails when I have a chance.
