Talk Digger: Check who is linking to you.
Check out the site guys. It’s quite good for what it does. Now instead of visiting all different search engines, you can just type the URL once and Talk Digger will search all the search engines for you and show you the results.
Frédérick Giasson has developed this site. Hey Frederick, what about having a similar thing for words too. I mean instead of just searching URL’s, people use search engines to search word strings as well, so it will be cool if you get that feature in as well. I am sure you can come up with a way that the system will search for ‘link:‘ if it recognises ‘www’,’http’ or ‘.com’ in the search string. I would love to search my name in all the search engines at once.
Just a idea, later you can expland onto cover tag searching too if you think it’s worth while.

This is a nice one and symptoms are for real. This can also be an interesting read for those who don’t have a blog yet and are pressured in getting one.

I believe that:
– Data retention is an invasive tool that interferes with the private lives of everyone;
– Retaining personal data on everyone is an illegal practice in terms of Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, as it is disproportionate;
– Security gained from retention may be illusory, as it is likely that traffic data that is associated to one individual may actually be linked to activity taken by another, or by a process that is unrelated to the activities of that user;
– The means through which this policy is being pursued is illegitimate, as some member states who have failed to pass this policy through their own Parliaments are now trying to push it through the EU instead in the name of harmonisation and international cooperation.
I call upon the European Commission and the European Parliament to examine the proposal for data retention very critically and uphold the protection of human rights, including privacy, in these difficult times.
I agree, data retention is no solution to stop terrorism and similar activities. Find better solutions without intruding into everybody’s personal lives. I support this, do you?

Whoppix is a stand-alone penetration-testing live CD based on KNOPPIX. With the latest tools and exploits, it is a must for every penetration tester and security auditor. Whoppix includes several exploit archives, such as Securityfocus, Packetstorm, SecurityForest and Milw0rm, as well as a wide variety of updated security tools. The new custom kernel also allows for better WIFI support. Starting with version 3.0, Whoppix was renamed to WHAX and its base changed from KNOPPIX to the more modular SLAX live CD.
I am still not sure why would somebody want this, but this is informational just incase somebody has a X-Box lying around collecting dust!

Happy System Administrator Day
Okie, the instructions from the VMWare site did help and I was quickly able to install WinVista and quickly started diving into the new features of Windows Vista. To say the least, I am in love with the UI that I have seen so far. I plan to have some pictures and videos of Windows Vista in coming days, so keep on checking this blog space.
As for IE 7, don’t know yet. I had a quick look and liked the feature of “phishing” that it has. Although I don’t think it has anything more to offer me so far ( I still have to have an extended look) but I have installed Stipe Firefox on it and it’s working fine so far. More playing with Windows Vista over the weekend.
Comment here if you got any more tips to share.
