Welcome to my blog. Here I will introduce myself enough so that you all reading my blog knows that I am a real person named Tejas Patel and feel comfortable reading a blog from a person that you might not know.

So my name is Tejas Patel and I am a male in his 20’s living in Melbourne, Australia. Indian by birth I came to Australia few years ago and since then am residing here for good. I am here with my wife and loads of other friends. I am a easy guy who wants to enjoy each and every day of life while doing something that helps the community. I started with blogs and blogging at the end of December 2003 and have made quite a few blogs since than. I like talking about software tools, productivity, technology and how people can enhance their lives using technology. I am trying to dig a hole in the field of computer security (Information Systems Security, more to say) as well. I like to talk and discuss on religious and spiritual topics.

I have Masters in Information Systems and have few more technical certification and working towards few more.

Yes, I do work for somebody for now. I am not putting those details as I want to keep this blog separate from my work and my work does not have any kind of blogging policies yet. When they do, you will see me editing this page as well :).

What kind of person am I? As I say, I am easy going, friendly, smiling and many other positive things related to me kind of person. My negative side is I make friends easily ;).

Update:- I just got started with a project. The project is called CertRef and the website can be found at http://www.certref.com and more details on starting of this project can be found from here. It is a wiki based website intended to make a resource pool for vendor certifications.

Ken at Ars Technica links to Raymond Chen at MSDN. What Chen concludes is that overclocking of processors might lead to blue screen of death (BSOD) and make look Windows bad.

I agree I have seen many people abusing Microsoft when they themselves don’t follow the recommended settings and try to hack and modify settings that come out of the blue to them. It’s good to see that Microsoft is putting time and resources for all the error messages that we sent them.

The new certification is called MCAP which stands for Microsoft Certified Architect Program. Looks interesting. I will be ahot candidate for this certification one day. More details can be found from http://www.mcpmag.com/news/article.asp?EditorialsID=789 .

While I think of Podcasts and how important they will be in future, Dave Winer writes on his blog “Podshows are the future? Heh. Maybe.”

I think they would be much important than the importance that is given to them at this stage. We will see.

Having enjoyed Firefox so much, I thought on digging more about greasemonkey and try it myself. So I went ahead and installed Greasemonkey and than further down I went ahead and installed a srcipt to put a “Delete” button on Gmail interface. Again I am impressed. My decision to move to Firefox is really paying off.

Frank Arrigo had linked me to YaGoohoogle few days back. As Frank I also wish that someone could do a similar site which includes MSN Search as well. So far I have’nt seen anything that includes MSN Search as well. Can anybody do few lines of coding so to have three search sites on the same page? Is’nt somebody from Microsoft community ready to take this plunge? It would be good to see how the three search engines give the results. This will help search engines as well as users who just type onces and get results from three engines. Anybody ready for this small excersie?

One question I had about Gmail invites are whether they are tracked or not? I have 50 invites at the moment. If I invite anybody around and if they do anything against Gmail terms of usage, can I be held responsible in any way? I am sure it is easy for Gmail and others to track where the person got the invitation. What is my liability in such cases?

Cameron Reilly linked me to a way on associating shortcuts in Microsoft Outlook. That’s a relief. Thanks Cameron for the link. As Cameron, I had the same problem marking all the folders in Outlook as all read. I use Newsgator and lately have been using Bloglines as well. Although I am subsribed to a lot of feeds, sometimes I just want to start from scratch marking all the folders as read. Manually doing it for hundreds of feeds is a pain. Luckily now instead of clicking on “Mark All As Read” in Outlook, I will now follow click Alt+Q and it will do the trick. Saving time, being smarter and being productive is always a good thing :).

I don’t understand a lot of Golf, but just enough to understand a good golf shot. I was at the gym today when I saw the excellent shot by Tiger Woods at the Masters in the news there. Came home and fired my news aggregator to see Robert linking to ad made by Joseph Jaffe. Nice work Joseph. Now I have that incredible and motivational shot stored on my computer for the rest of the life. I bet this home made ad will stay in my life more than many other day to day ads I see on Television again and again.
