I just want to keep away from one more content aggregation site

There has been buzz on the Internet about Friendfeed lately. I had read about it that it is a content aggregation site etc. etc. I never checked it out and registered on it until today. Alright, I have not spent a lot of my time on it yet. But what it is so far? It is a content aggregation system where an individual can collate all his feed and share it with friends. The aggregator shows the updates by different icons, so if it is a Twitter post, it will show the Twitter icon, if it is a blog update, it will show blog icon to make it easily recognisable. Good idea, but just not for me at this stage.

The changes are that I will be seeing more then 50% of the same information as I normally do subscribe to my friend’s blog and I follow most of them on Twitter as well, so I want to reduce duplication. I am not Robert Scoble who gets 1 tweet per second but it’s hard for me to keep up with Twitter not only at work but even at home. It can get into a part time job in itself.Above all, I would prefer a tool where there can be some kind of conversation rather then just aggregation of the content.

I hear, content aggregation is big business!

I have finished working at Accenture while making some life long relationships

Last week was my last week working on a Accenture project atleast for now. It was fun 11 months, especially working with a colorful team there. Some really talented and some really talented with the fun environment they can create at work. The project I was working was really busy but I have learned some life long lessons from it that will help me in my career and life ahead. Along with it, I have made some friends that I see as life long relationships. So thanks to all my mates at Accenture.

I start a new project, a bit more challenging in a weeks time from now. Will keep you posted more about it.

And a beautiful angel enters this world

Sorry Khushi , I am too late to post this news on the blog. Komal and I had a lovely baby girl on 21st of October, 2007. She is 2 weeks today. Both mother and baby are doing quite well. Khushi is a happy baby and things are under control so far :).

As a geek father, I always wanted to register domain names in my children’s name. And I did that too! Luckily I got the domain names I wanted. For Khushi, I got www.khushipatel.com site. This post has some details on her when she was born.

I will post details on her when I can on her new site and here.

Get Crazy Windows Live Domain email address

Wow, I have missed this news again. While going through the past news in Google Reader, I read that Microsoft is trying new service for Indian email users where they can get some really funny email address which are really personalized. The funny domain names are in following categories: –

Where I live
Who I like
Who I am
What I like
I Don’t Fit

The thing that impressed me that Microsoft is now giving 5 GB of space with each email address. Ya, I want more space as I have to clean up my Gmail email address every now and then because of space restrictions and I am a power user! Go get your cool and funny email address at http://www.coolhotmail.com.

What I would like to get is to get some really good professional email domain names as well.

Google’s part in Australian election

Wow, this election is going to be fun. Firstly because since I took the Australian citizenship I am now eligible to vote but secondly web is playing an important role in this election as well. Google launched Australian 2007 Election website. The site has list to You Tube channels for Australian parties involved in election. Here is a link to Australian Liberal Party and here is one for Australian Labor Party.

Not to forget they also have Picasa Web Albums as well. Ah, I am going to have fun enjoying the videos.
