Tracking growth: the iTunes app store vs Google Play.
iTunes store got to the prominent place by supporting two device family (iPhone and iPad) where as Google Play (Android based apps) has hundreds of devices to bring it to the position where it is.
Android has captured the market by various vendors bringing in hundreds of devices to support it. To me the innovative leader is still Apple.
