Google now offers customised Google news. Quite handy. I can add/remove standard section and even add custom selection. Drag and drop and few more features. Good move Google. More innovation is more fun and information to the end users. This reminds me that I better check MSN News page to see if they have made any changes on their page?
I disagree Robert Scoble
$$$ These are my views and does not represent any other human being or entity on this planet $$$
I disagree Mr. Robert Scoble. You say “The reality is you’re always representing your employer when you talk in public, no matter how many disclaimers you make.” Your blog may be a part of your job, but it’s not always the case with everyone else. I don’t get paid to keep up my blog nor do I talk about my employer or employment, where am I representing my employer here?
If a person has totally different views on a issue than his/her corporation’s view, does that mean he cannot/should not put them in public just because people are going to link his personal opinions as the opinions of the corporation? It would be OK that I represent my company when I am talking about my company’s products and services, but not otherwise. I might be blogging 12 hours a day in my own time and in that time I want to be just me and not some company’s unpaid representative. Does that mean that a employee cannot be just be himself and talk for himself when he has taken of his employee hat? Are bloggers losing their identity as just themselves as a person?
May be it’s a Reality for you mate, but not all of us out here. For Keith who commented on your blog with the following lines “You may not be speaking for them but people will see you as their employee”. My answer to this is, people have to understand when a person is representing a company and when he is speaking for himself. People have to understand that a person might be having his/her opinions too which might be different from hsi Companies opinion.
Robert, with comments like this, you are just making it very difficult for new bloggers to join the blogging stream. You are making it difficult for bloggers to speak out freely about anything as they now have to fear that their opinions can be counted as opinions of their employer. YES I agree that every employee represents his/her company in a way, but not all the times and not at all the places.
On the side note, what would you tell a contractor who is contracting for 10 different companies at the same time? Does that mean that he is representing 10 different companies at the same time?
Robert sometimes your thoughts are just too much (although interesting). Can you elaborate in much length on such controversial topics from next time on so your readers get a better picture on what’s exactly in your brain? Do you think I got the point that you were talking about?
IE 7 will have tabbed browsing
I read the updated preview at Winsupersite. Come on IE 7 Team! Do something new and exciting which is not a part of other browsers and which can be difficult to get done in other browsers too. You are talking of tabbed browsing now, I have been using tabbed browsing in Opera for a long time. Firefox has tabbed browsing. Do something that is unique that none of the other browsers have. Win be back Internet Explorer, win me back. I am getting more and more comfortable with Firefox now. I am posting this from Firefox too.
Tim Bray write points on why Blogging is good
Tim Bray writes on why Blogging is good for people. I agree with most of the points.
My favourites:-
“Bloggers are better-informed than non-bloggers. Knowing more is a career advantage.”
“Networking is good for your career. Blogging is a good way to meet people.”

Where is Orkut gone?
Have people forgotten about Orkut? I don’t see much talks going about Orkut these days. Will that be one of those social networking sites that will fade away eventually? Talking of Orkut, what’s going on with Wallop? Don’t see much buzz about that too, even Microsoft guys are not talking much about it.
Netspace browser is still alive
Sorry for my ignorance, but I thought Netspace browser had vanished from the face of this Earth. Looks like Netscape browser has just released beta version of their next browser called Netscape Browser 8.0. The beta can be downloaded from http://browser.netscape.com/nsb/download/default.jsp link. The relase notes say that it will have more security features. I did download it, but on the second thought I won’t install it.
I am happy with the Moox version of Firefox for now.

winzip your email attachments with Winzip Outlook 1.0
Amit Agarwal links me to Winzip Companion 1.0 for Outlook. Looks like a good feature from Winzip. Especially this is really handy for people who send a lot of attachments and when some of them are sensitive documents. It definately saves a lot of space on hard disk and limits the size the the pst file as well. I do sent out a lot of attachments and I use Winrar’s compression before I send them out and also I can encrypt the file names, set a password and keep my file permissions as it is. Similar feature and integration from Winrar would be a added benefit. By the way, I use Winrar instead of Winzip for all my document zipping. It can also extract data of a iso file.
