I am getting a hang of Dilbert
I am not a big fan of comics. I hardly read or glanced over it until recently when I read and viewed Dilbert strips 6 days in a row. They are funny and I am getting a hang of it. I am subsribed to Dilbert now. Are there any other comics that you guys recommend to watch? I like Simpsons if that explains my taste in any way!

Connecting to your home computers using Remote Desktop
While broadband is becoming common, I see many people who would like to have continous access to their home computers from where ever they go. Charlie Russel prepares a presentation so simple that even the new IT comers can understand it and configure the system.
The presenation can be downloaded from here. Having access to the home computer or even work computer can be quite handy and using Remote Desktop can be a very cheaper option in getting this done.
Learning from good speakers
Cliff Atkinson writes a small blurb on what bloggers should learn from good speakers and vice Versa. I agree Cliff. Even I have to improve my skills on writing.
I will remember :-
1. –>Find your focus. One of the most beautiful things about life is that we all have different interests and passions. What are yours? Pick a focus for your communication and stick with it. >
2. –>Look for the story. Don’t contribute to our culture’s Attention Deficit Disorder; help us to cure it. Out of all the information you see, what’s most important? What does it all mean?
4. –>Develop your craft. At the moment, blogging is mostly about writing, so learn how to be a better writer. Take a continuing education course in non-fiction writing or journalism. Learn how to write better headlines, and how to get right to the point in the first line of your posting. If you’re starting to podcast, take a course in radio production. If you’re screencasting or vlogging, take a course in video production.
Indian newspaper speaks on side effects of blogging
Nice to see some blogging articles in local newspaper from India. This morning I read an article from Jwalak called “Blogged Out”. The article is discussing on bloggers blogging about company issues on their blogs and people blogging on ‘Company time’.
Installation screen shots of Solaris 10
I like to try new things that are available in the market and even software that I don’t have a clue about. Now Sun Solaris is one of those so far. I always wanted to see what the user interface is like for other OS and sites like http://shots.osdir.com/ gives me this option. User interface is important to me along with the features the operating system provides, ofcourse along with a long list of other parameters. I wanted to try Sun Solaris for a long time, but never got around installing it. Today I saw the installation screens of Sun Solaris 10. Yes and I am boosted now. I will try it in real sometime soon.
CeBIT 2005 Video Coverage
A guy who went to CeBIT 2005 has video coverage of the even and the videos can be downloaded from http://cebit.150.dk/. Bittorrent is the best way to go. I better start getting in Bittorent culture soon.
My website still does not show up on Google
This sucks in a way. Is my website still in Google Sandbox? There should be a mechanism to find that what’s going on with Google indexing my site. My website statistics show that Google Bot indexing is only 15% of total search engine Bot indexing. My site just won’t show up on Google Search site. Yahoo Slurp seems to be on the top. Although Yahoo Search seems to have improved a lot, I don’t use Yahoo nor do people I know use Yahoo. MSN Search seems to have picked this site well. Well this will just mean that now when I talk to people, I will have to tell them that Yahoo me up or MSearch me.
On the side note again:- Google me up sounds good, Yahoo me up is also good. We need a phrase to refer to MSN Search. Is “MSearch me” alright? Can you give me a better phrase than this?
Blogger goes to sleep and a scary blogger wakes up
Having discussions on Robert’s Blog on this and this post I am a bit horrified and scared now. The arguments are valid to some degree and I think I will (might have to) have to come to terms to it until I start working for myself. Not good eh. I still don’t agree that this should be the case though. From now on I will be very much consious about what I write. I even added a disclaimer (read that in inverted commas) on top left hand corner. Help me to find a better disclaimer which is still a bit different than the usual/boring disclaimer. I want distinct disclaimer.
So the blogger that was born nearly 14 months back goes to sleep now until I find a solution in my dreams or until somebody wakes me up and put scary blogger (me) back to sleep.
On the side note I don’t see Employers paying us extra to represent them the way they want 24×7.
