Note to self : Read the instructions carefully, do not mix color fast clothes with other clothes

:oops:What have I done. I forgot to read instructions on all my clothes while putting them in laundry. Result, I have spoiled my 6 new pair of clothes and they are all grayish in shade now :-/. Who’s the culprit? My cheap $10 black top that I bought couple of years back. This has also affected my bed sheet (which was white designer sheet) and my towel (which was red and white before, now it’s read and gray!! ). I won’t feel like wearing or using these clothes again and Komal is going to strangle me once she hears of this.

Note to Self :-

1. Always read the labels
2. Have your brains switched on while doing the laundry
3. Follow no. 3 if not done yet
4. Stop buying cheap color fast clothes!

Smile while you walk, it won’t hurt you

I wish people would look at each other and give a smile while they go out on walks in parks, on side on the roads, around the lake etc. Well that’s my complaint that people don’t look at each other (they will either look side ways or will look on the ground) while they pass somebody while they are walking. It’s none of my business if somebody does not want to smile while they are walking or jogging, but it won’t harm anybody!

I make it a point to go for walks at least 3 times a week. I go to get fresh, to stretch myself and to get some fresh air into my lungs. My general observation is when people pass each other are as below:

— They will not look straight into eyes of the other person walking or jogging
— They will either look sideways or look at the ground (well what’s there!)
— If somebody looks at you and you are not exactly looking at them instantly they will move their head in other directions
— Getting a smile from most of them is tough.

When I go for walking, I want to make it a pleasurable experience. I want to not only make myself happy but also would love to make somebody else’s experience pleasurable too. I am sure most will agree that giving somebody a smile is a contagious reaction. You can’t help but smile back or greet somebody back. When I am walking with not so pleasant thoughts in my head and if somebody smiles at me, my mind immediately makes a shift and changes focus by giving a smile in return. I am sure you get my point!

So next time you are walking or jogging, please don’t ignore other people passing by you. A greetings or a smile will make a lot of difference.

Copy paste text between computers – contd.

Continuing Amit’s post on how what others use to copy paste text between two computers, here is what I do: –

1. Use Gmail drafts to save text on one computer and access it on other
2. Use Microsoft OneNote(which are sync. on both computers) to share the text. This saves the formating too compared to the services that Amit mentions on his blog.
3. Use Word and Notepad to save text and put it in the shared folder and access it on the second computer
4. And lately I Use the clipping and remote control feature of MaxiVista. It’s a cool tool.

The other tools that people could use was NoteBook from Google

People/Companies/Bloggers needed to hire me

It’s time to reveal a news. The good and bigger news is as of now I am a free man meaning looking for bigger and better challenges in life. With end of last year I ended working for my previous employer @ IT Masters. They work for Charles Sturt University delivering Masters and other Post Graduate level courses as well looking after marketing side of it. I had been working there for nearly 4 years now and now is the time to move on to bigger, better and challenging things in life. My involvement there was both in the training and technology side. I have learned a lot from there, both relating to my job and over other areas as well and am very hopeful that I will be able to apply that knowledge where ever I go.

So what’s on the plan now? My criteria with my new work is it should be exciting, it should be challenging and something where I can create value and enjoy working day in and day out. The first thing that comes to my mind with the above criteria is working as a Technical Evangelist (There are couple of people on my mind that I am going to contact regarding this). I am also open to training opportunities. I love teaching and showing people how exciting and beneficial technology is.

I will like to try contracting positions to start with, so I can spare some more time for my own little ventures (like blogging more professional and consistently here) and spending more time with my family. But if good opportunities will show up for full time position then I will think about that too. I am open to more options at this stage for now. Want to explore my options and dive into something that seems most exciting and challenging to me. I am also interested in professional blogging positions, so blog gers and Blog Network managers, let me know if there is a good opportunity out there.

As to if anybody has any question as to why to hire me? Well I am a guy full of life, energy, ideas and passion to create value and make a positive impact on whatever I do.

To my other reader friends, let me know if there are any suggestions, leads that can help me find me my dream organisation/s to work for.

My email to contact me is tejas . patel @ gmail .com

I am back from India

I am back from India after finishing my brother’s wedding. Wow, it was amazing experience for me. Learned so many new things about the customs that we follow (had to do this in my father’s absence). I was supposed to fill in my father’s shoes. Overall had a great time and will cherish every moment of it. The only problem with my Indian trips are they are too busy for anything except family and work. Hardly had any time to visit any of my friends or to do anything extra.

Having my laptop with me also saved me some time as I did not have to sit on my really old Pentium III computer which we have at our house in India. I still don’t have access to the pictures from the wedding as they are still with the professional photographer that we used, but will post some when I get access to them.

I am chatting away at Changai Airport now

Ah, I should have blogged about my plans before. I am going to India for a short trip for my brothers wedding which is on 23rd. I will be in my city Baroda most of the time. So last night I left for India and now in Singapore. Found a place where I could hook my lappy and do some blog reading and writing, but guess what! All my friends remembered to remember me today and the moment they saw me online they started saying “hello” to me. So I am chatting away at Changi Airport.

I am going to go and take some rest at the local Transit Hotel for around six hours. My halt here is 14 hours before I take my flight at 7:30 PM Local time to Ahmedabad (India) which gets me there at 10:30 PM(IST). The weather here seems showery. I will take some pictures around the airport and post it here.

Anybody has any other better ideas to what I can be doing while I am here? Any other interesting things that I might not be aware of and you would like to share?.

OK, I am going to go and check into my Hotel room now, will update soon.

EDIT: I am back after relaxing. Had some brunch, did some shopping (one of that was a Universal Power Adaptor with USB support in it) and back browsing. I am lazy to get my camera out and take some pictures 😦 and feel a bit awkward as well. Well the sky are still out in Singapore water is trickling from the sky. It’s is still 2.5 hours before I fly out from here.

OK, am back to downloading some trials and going through my Google Reader and putting some links on my link blog.
